The Book of Judges is the seventh book of the Christian Old Testament. The book predominantly covers the time taken in between the conquest as described by Joshua and the resulting establishment of a kingdom as mentioned by Samuel at that time when the other Biblical judges served as temporary leaders. The book follows a consistent pattern. Many scholars have said that the ‘Book of Judges’ is the oldest in the Deuteronomistic history dating back to the 8th century BCE.
