Identify and Examine Workplace Barrier of Inequity Faced by Women
Question:-
identify and examine another workplace barrier/example of inequity faced by women. The workplace can be anywhere in the world and can be any type of barrier.
Answer:-
In the year 2012, tech investor Ellen Pao sued her employer, the venture capital organization Kleiner Perkins Caufild and Byers, for gender discrimination or bias. She accused her employer for not promoting her to higher position just because she was a woman. Along with thjs, she was retaliated because she complained against this discrimination. Pap lost the suit and later dropped her appeal in the year 2015, but the legal battle garnered attention at national level, prompting a closer look at gender inclusivity and diversity within the tech industry. In her new memoir reset, my fight for inclusion and lasting change, Ellen Pao dives into the lawsuit that thrust her into the national spotlight and the working place situations that prompted it. This case proves that gender discrimination still exists in the workplaces and women are treated unequally on the basis of their gender. The employer in this case is conducted illegal and unacceptable practice which is not at all supported by any legal regulations.
The post on gender discrimination was completely wrong and needs to be considered to ascertain that still organisations are doing gender discrimination in one or the other way. The case of Ellen Pao was completely unethical and can not be justified. The gender discrimination in promotion of employees is not all legal and there are many policies have been developed for reducing the same.
